Letter from your EB
Dear Delegates,
We, as your executive board at UNSC for MUNRISE, are honored to welcome you to our committee. For our committee, we have adopted a dual agenda, our first agenda being, ‘The Ukraine-Russia War’ and the second agenda for discussion being ‘The Occupation of Taiwan by China’. We, with surety, believe that these agendas will mandate a fruitful discussion and pique your interest. Your chairperson, Aarav Rakesh, is an intellectual in the field of not just MUNs, but literature as well. Despite his aloof exterior, he’s extremely helpful, especially for dealing with doubts regarding procedure. Your co-chairperson, Abir Lal, is equable yet light-hearted and easily approachable. As a first time chair himself, he is eager to assist any inexperienced delegates and hopes for the committee to go as smoothly as possible. Your vice chairperson, Saina Kini, is very approachable, adores MUNs as a platform to voice opinions and would love to be able to help all delegates with their inconveniences.
You will be provided with a study guide by the executive board; however, doing your own research is advocated. For all first timers attending the MUN, we would like to permeate that we, the executive board, are ardently prepared and predisposed to offer our help in any way that we are able. We hope that this conference is exceptional and peerless for every delegate attending, and hope for an august conclusion to our agenda. We implore you to use this as an opportunity to voice yourselves and express yourselves without any hesitation.
As delegates, you will be representatives of your country and it is our solemn hope that you dedicate yourselves to gathering research on your country in order to imitate the delegation of your country aptly. We request all delegates to be well versed with their countries and the agendas in order to have a fruitful debate, for only with preparation will you be able to illustrate the stance of your country. We request you as delegates to not make your motive winning but rather to enjoy the experience of MUNRISE.
As an accompaniment to the study guides, we also urge you to brush up on the Rules of Procedure to ensure that you are well-versed in the necessary conduct for a MUN. The rules of procedure ensure courteous debates in the duration of the MUN and we request that you abide by them at all times.
This will be the first-ever MUNRISE conference, and we want to ensure that you enjoy the experience and leave hungry for more. Over the two-day conference, you as delegates will participate in thought-provoking debate and you should seize the opportunity to introspect and discover a little more about yourself.
Lastly, we hope that MUNRISE will be an enjoyable and beneficial experience for all participating delegates, and we as the EB endeavour to facilitate this ideal. On behalf of the EB as well as the team behind MUNRISE, Good Luck!
Sincerely,
Aarav Rakesh - Chairperson
Abir Lal - Co-chairperson
Saina Kini - Vice Chairperson
